This was a group piece by students Chelsea King, Erica Carothers, Lauren Ely, Chris Ryan and myself created in Theory and Research. Together, we acted as a research agency in that we executed methods such as focus groups, surveys and content analysis to gather critical data for the Vans company. We conducted this research and drew various conclusions to help Vans better know its customers. We answered questions such as, "Is Vans reaching its target demographic? What is Vans' current image? What do people like or dislike about the brand? How can Vans improve upon itself?"
My main responsibilities during this research process were to pin point the best survey questions which would offer the most insight about our target demographic and its attitude towards Vans. Lauren Ely worked with me on creating the most useful survey. I also worked on the discussion portion of the project as well as drawing the rationale after our research efforts. The rationale discussed each part of the research process and analyzed its outcomes. I also created the concise PowerPoint presentation that would ultimately be pitched to the Vans company.
